"Dear God, Please Make Copy Rights Die. Amen."

The indy comic and illustration world is tasting blood lately over this lovely son of a bitch.

Since none of you shop at Spencer's Gifts of Claire's, a bit of background. Todd Goldman, aka Todd Goliath, first gain famed with those crappy "Throw Rocks at Boys" t-shirts. He's made a massive chunk of change off his psuedo-witty "Picture with Caption" merch, even selling "originals" for thousands.

He's also a thieving rat bastard.

Now, I don't insult people like this lightly. I've been at the other end of some seriously uncivil attacks, and therefore have learned to give people the benefit of the doubt until the last possible second.

That second went screaming by days ago, when Goldman started mailing Cease and Desist letters, posting on forums as anonymous "supporters" (but forgetting that his IP would be logged) and even hacking people's MySpace accounts. You can read more about all of that here.

Stealing Smorky's comic and making tons of cash off it it was gross. The mountains of theft from struggling underground artists and other sources revealed afterwards was horrid. Being a giant, immature prick when you're found out? Using scare tactics to silence your victims? Now you're officially signing over all rights not to be mocked by the Internet forever.

Kind of like this.

I swear I totally had no idea about all these other cartoonists when I chose to make my 100% original painting above. Complete coincidence. Imagine.
